The Holiday . Dim Sum . Death Note 2 . Gamez Day

Snippets of the week:

Tuesday (26/12/2006):

Went out with Fuji today~ Caught the movie "The Holiday" @ Cineleisure for 2.30pm~ I arrived kinda late.. suppose to be there by 1.45pm so that we could have some lunch.. turned out i arrived around 2-ish.. so our lunch exceeded to 2.40pm.. haha.. sorry ji~ >.<"

Good thing was, the movie had just started as we entered.. so we were damn lucky la~ Thank goD for movie ads lol~ 'The Holiday' was a nice movie.. somewhat "Love Actually" - type kind of show~ The performance by Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black was flawless.. all 3 showed acting professionalism~ Hmm.. somehow.. the character played by Kate Winslet sort of reflected almost the exact situation which i myself feel i'm in as well.. "Unrequited Love" she puts it.. how true...

Anyway.. we finished around 4-ish.. and took a walk down orchard road area.. went from Taka to Far East.. to Heeren's.. to dinner at a simple food court near CentrePoint @ 6 plus.. Aiyo.. the fav. penang char kuay teow which i used to frequent wasn't there anymore.. half the place was under renovation.. =

Wednesday (27/12/2006):

Today i met up with LiPing & Zhi Hao in the afternoon, around 3pm to have a late-lunch dim sum session with them~ It was LiPing's treat! She wanted to treat us as a form of thanks for her biFdaY prezzies~ Although i myself did say it was alright.. no need de.. but she sort of insisted.. saying she "dun wan to qian ren (owe ppl) before the new year arrives" haha~ Nonetheless.. it was excellent~ Thanks LiPing~ ;)

P.S: Too bad the 2 of us didn't get to try the nice pudding... haha.. =X No la, joking.. its alright~ We all have a gD time and the food really filled us already~ ;)

Thursday (28/12/2006):

Death Note 2 : The Last Name - This was the movie my JC gang and I watched that evening @ GV Marina~ It's the movie i had been waiting for for the past weeks~ And i wasn't a tad disappointed at all~ The movie was intense, humourous (haha it was) yet gripping as well~ Not to mention a twist at the end and a different ending from the manga (so i was told)~ A full 2hours and 20mins~ But to mE, not a moment was boring or dull. Nice~

Friday (29/12/2006):

Yet another great day out with my fellow brothers-in-arms~ A full day spent with them from morning till the end of day~ Ivan, Yoke, Weili, Soh and I had a simple LAN session down @ headquarters @ Prinsep Street from 11 to 2.. We managed to complete SKIBI TD at last lo!! wahaha.. show u all screen-shot~

We also played a crazy round of "-ardm, -wtf", of DOTA~ lol.. absolute madness. If u guys dunno what that is.. ask around~ =P

At 2pm.. the rest arrived, adding up to a total of 9 ppl - Ivan, Yoke, Yu Sheng, Darryl, Weili, Soh, Stan, Yap and mE~ We headed directly upstairs from our LAN shop to "Mind Cafe" ~ Yet another round of games~! haha.. a gamez day for us~ Only this time.. it was boardgamez fun and laughter which we had~ Happy hour from 2pm - 6pm is what we had~ We played many gamez that made us cringe with intense laughter~ So much so that there were points where we had a take a breather.. literally. haha~ Our all-time fav. game? - TABOO~!! It never fails to make us burst into insane laughter where all other tables would immediately shoot towards us~ haha~!

@ 6pm, we left for Chinatown (Upper Cross street food court) where we met up with zG (in his v.formal office attire~ waa..) and had quite a gourmet of various tantalizing dishes~ Some of which are due to the efforts of Yoke (and his ever-present 'enthu-aura') together with some of the rest~ Thanks guys~ It was really great of u for the treat! =D

Also, we finally toOk a group pic together! After countless "next time la.. next time la", we finally did it~ haha~ Certainly a day to remember~ :)

*Haha.. this particular pic of soh and ys posing makes them loOk "very romantic".. don't u think? wahaha..

*Merii Kurisumasu*

*phew.. just came back from a BBQ & gathering session at my grandma's place~ Needless to say, lots of gD food and of coz, great family company as well~ Good to see faces which i seldom see, and the usual ones which i'm always happy to look upon.

Its funny.. but my two nieces, "Jia Xuan" & "Yi Ting" (aged about 1 - 2 years) have a knack of following mE~ lol~ They seem to be 'attracted' to mE whenever i pop over my grandma's. Sort of give me those cute baby stares (which i can never get enough of~ lol) and trying to draw my attention with their cute antics (e.g: spinning around and running here and there.. lol)

Yi Ting is the more active and "tough gal" type~ While Jia Xuan is the more quiet, innocent-looking type. :) Nonetheless, i've started to grow kinda fond towards those 2 cute adorable nieces of mine~

Hmm.. i'll post pics of them when i have the opportunity to take'em~

On Friday, i managed to hook up with Fengkai & Fuji and we had our lunch date at the famous Bedok 85 hawker centre~ haha it was great to be able to meet both of them after such a long time~ Fengkai with his unique funny charisma that never fails to tickle my funny bonez, and Fuji with her impeccable smile and beautiful eyes~ Fuji is one of the few i know who's eyes really attract mE~

Unfortunately for us.. (and i'm sorry guys i didn't know) most of Bedok 85's famous stalls were closed.. apparently they only start opening at around 5.30pm till late. I should've known... coz everyone goes there for late-night supper in the wee hours.. usually after clubbing or partying somewhere~ and i've always gone there late at night b4 as well. Anyway, we'll be meeting for a movie outing on Tuesday ya? =)

Thursday (21/12/06):

Our 'Healthy Lifestyle Day' was a huge success~ It was as i had expected. Weili took the liberty to pick mE up @ 10.30am (while dropping my mum off at Parkway Parade thereafter.. thx bro) where we headed over to Kembangan mrt to pick the rest up.. together with ivan who picked them up as well~ Had an exhausting yet v.enjoyable badminton session @ the Bedok Sports Hall till about 1pm~ We then drove to my market place where we had our lunch at the best western stall in my market~ Had a great chat on many issues.. where we found out something pleasant about a certain 'someone' in our gang. haha.. i shan't say who or what.

Spent the rest of the afternoon @ ivan's place.. some of them played Dota & TD over their laptops.. while others played on my PS2, which i had brought over. Come 7pm, we finally settled down and had a taste of ivan's mum's grand cooking skillz~ And i must say.. it was FANTA-BULOUS~! haha. Absolutely delicious~ i especially loVed the curry chicken and the fishball soup~ *Mmm-mmM! Thanks ivan for the invite & for organising the day~ And pls do tell ur mum how great her cooking is~ and how much we all enjoyed ourselves that night~ :)

Oh yes.. of coz, before i forget.. *Merii Kurisumasu everyone~!! =D
That's "Merry Christmas" in jap for those who dunno. lol~
*Happy Holidays~ Many Presents for everyone & even better results for those waiting~ :)
Remember: Sharing is Caring~ .. That includes everything from ur foOd to ur celebrations of joy to ur moments of.. whatever. Kk.. i'm starting to blabber now.. better sleep soOn~ lol

Mind Cafe . Black Angus . Healthy Lifestyle Day~!

Been awhile~ sorry for the momentary pause in my blog~

Just recovered from my 'ulcer-ated' (if ever such a word) sore throat which forced me to eat nothing but porridge and lots of medicine for the past week. Apparently 2 huge ulcers threatened to overwhelm my throat. Made me lose quite abit of weight... zZz... as if i didn't have enough of it..

Gonna recover all the food that i've lost starting now! >:O

Went out together with mum & sis today.. had a nice set lunch at 'Black Angus' @ One Fullerton. Really great stuff they have there.. yummy 'cheesy-eggy' caesar's salad.. teriyaki chicken.. garlic mashed potatoes.. a slice of heavenly chocolate cake.. =D~~ lol

Also bought my Mika's new CD - "The End" - which is the new soundtrack for her second 'NANA 2' movie that will be coming out next year~ =)
Eh.. all of u better go buy and support her k? haha

Bought some pants and a long-sleeve T-shirt - all thanks to my mum~
Thanks for the wonderful lunch @ 'Black Angus' and the clothes mum dearest~ :)

Back-track to Tuesday~

Had a really fun time with some of the guys @ Mind Cafe opposite Parklane Mall~ All 8 of us - Ivan, Teck, Stan, Willy, Yu sheng, Yong sheng, Yap and mE~ All the board games we played would surely induce immense and intense laughter between all of us~ haha. Games like, 'Taboo', 'Fast-hands', 'SNORTA!' - haha~ Dog goes 'Baw-waw', Cat goes 'Mao mao', Cow goes 'niu niu', Frog goes 'ribbbbit', Pig goes 'oink oink'... haha! Oh how much hilarious fun we had trying to guess each other's animals.

Haven't laughed so much in months~ Must definitely organise another outing there in the weeks to come~ This time must force ppl like yoke, zg and soh to come as well~ haha

Oh ya~ Got back my exam results last week as well~ Managed to pull through 2 HDs and 2 Ds~! yay~ :)

Well, gonna zZz liao~ Have a long day ahead tmrw~ Meeting the guys @ 10.30am @ kem mrt to go ivan's house for our 'Healthy Lifestyle' day~ Gonna play badminton and basketball till about 1pm.. then eat lunch and head over to his place to chill out till dinner where his parents are (so kindly) going to cook for all of us~ :) Thanks Ivan~

Yu Sheng's Day Out

Yesterday was probably the Best day i've had since i came back on 24th November~

A Day out with the entire '39' gang, which we haven't had since.. like.. JANUARY! o.O"

The candidate list: Ivan, Tecky, Yoke, Peng, Gay (darryl wo..lol), yibin, yongsheng, yusheng (da organisaA), jerry, yap, soh, zG, weili, stan and of coz.. yours truly. - 15 of us~

It was a day out that Yu Sheng had planned for quite some time.. ever since September. The main 'event' so to speak was the house-warming dinner that he had planned with his family, for us~ And of coz.. we always try to fill up the entire day to make it one enjoyable gathering.

Of coz.. what would a '39' gathering be without LAN?? haha..
10 of us met up first @ 10am to do a lil' 'catching up' on our Dota~ haha.. We played at the Head Quarters opposite Parklane Mall. Played 3 great intense matches in total~

Proceeded to Cathay Cineleisure @ 2pm to catch our Movie event @ 2.30pm - SAW 3~!! hahaha.. my first R21 film.. and it was filled with HEAPS of *gore* and *violence* >.<" Abit toO much perhaps.. lol~ Nonetheless.. having followed the SAW 1 & 2 sequels, i totally enjoyed the third and final installment of the movie, which i'm sure the rest would also agree. Very nice (the plot) i would say~ Although.. i'd probably never look at a bowl of 'kueh chap' or 'bak-u-teh' ever the same again! haha.. For those who watched it.. u'll know what i mean~

After the movie, ivan, teck, yoke and mE split off from the rest to head on to Carrefour at ps to get some wine for Yu Sheng and his family.. sorta like a gift of appreciation & thanks for inviting all of us over for dinner~

Met up with peng at bedok mrt and reached Yu Sheng's new place (which looked so much like a condo even though its just a new area of HDB flats) @ around 6pm~ His house was nice, cosey and warm~ And we had the great opportunity of tasting Yu Sheng's mum's home-made foOd~ I especially liked her fried meat-roll thingys (forgot what its called.. >.<") and her smoke chicken, which was ready only at around 11pm.. but well worth the wait! =)

We also watched the 'Star Awards 2006' together and made lotsa comments on everyone. haha~ Esp. the 'Best Supporting Actor' guy.. who seemed to always make reference to his ex-wife~ lol~ All the while, some of the guys were playing zion dota on yu sheng's pc~ Everyone staring intently at either weili, jerry or yap playing~ It was hell funny lol~

Ahh.. such a wonderful feeling of happiness and satisfaction i had yesterday with the guys~ Its been toO long since i had that feeling. Its those moments that really put a smile on my face. Gatherings with them have never failed to make me happy or amuse mE. haha~ Thanks guys~ And of coz..

*Thanks alot Yu Sheng for planning this great gathering for us and to ur family for having us over and coOking for us~! :) It was v.well appreciated by all of us~ Esp mE.

VivoOoO

Off to Vivo at last~!

Met Staniel at 3pm @ harbour front mrt. And i did a stupid thing getting there... boarded the train at Eunos.. and i should have taken it all the way to Outram interchange and then change to get to Harbour Front (1 stop).. but instead.. i toOk from Eunos to Cityhall.. then change to douby ghaut.. and THEN change again to get to Harbour.. zZz... such a bakazZ.. -_-"

Well.. anyway when i got there i bumped into Brendon from platoon 2~ haha.. he was also waiting for another friend to go to VivoO~ He seemed to have lost abit of weight.. but anyhow.. he also just finished his exams not toO long ago. We had abit of catching up for the next 5 - 10 min before stan arrived.

Stan wanted to try out the toast at "Toast Box"~ So we went to the basement one. Ordered a set each.. and it was not toO bad~ Though i think "Yakun" one still abit better~ lol

Took a stroll around the complex after that.. though most of the time we were talking and didn't really bother to actually enter most of the shops.. except for some. It was really messy in my opinion.. i didn't really know where i was the whole time.. haha.. lucky for me, stan knows his way well.. almost... toO well in my opinion. lol~

There were really HEAPS of shops lying here and there.. kinda overwhelming in a way.. lol~

Headed over to Queensway at about 5.30pm to check out some shoes and stuff. Then went over to Cityhall to meet up with some of the guys for dinner at 6.30pm. In the end, only "lao da" (zg), Soh, Jason Lee, Yap and Yu sheng turned up.. plus stan & mE. We decided to eat at Kenny Rogers down at Suntec.. Been quite some time since i last ate there... ages actually. lol~

Sat down and chatted for quite some time (as usual.. its a routine thing.. although most of the time we are standing instead.. lol) before we finally toOk a walk to Marina Square where the rest played a few rounds of poOL before we all headed home~

It was a gD day well spent~

Time for a Hair Cut

Yup~ After 3 months, its finally time to cut my hair again~

Met up with weili at 12.30pm @ Tampines MRT. There we toOk a walk to his "Professional Hair Studio" along Tampines Street 91. Managed to do some catching up while taking that 10-15min walk. Talked about bleach.. movies.. university stuffs etc..

Finally reached the salon and i was attended to by the young hair-dresser, Raine, while weili was attended to by some chinese guy called vincent. We both had a hair-cut + wash which amounted to about $17. I couldn't dye my hair coz i have to reserve my remaining month of NS in Jan! zZz.... how crappy... but no choice. Oh well..
Told Raine that i'd do it just before i fly back to Perth though~
Not to mention she's got v.strong hands for someone her petite size.. and i could feel it when she shampooed and massaged by scalp. haha~

After that, we headed to Century Square where we had some late lunch. Went on to weili's house in the afternoon to check out the new outlook of his room. He had repainted his entire room all by himself in a mere 3 days... something which might probably take mE 3 weeks. haha..

It was nice.. grey.. white.. black.. and his shelf which he specially painted it. Dude.. the lacquer spray really messed up ur table man... >.<"

Come evening, i left his house at around 6.30pm to make my way home. Suppose to have a dinner at 7.30pm with my grand uncle and grand aunt and family.. but.. when i reached home.. i decided not to go.... somehow... i wasn't feeling toO 'well' and felt that home would be best.

Well, going to sleep after this.. trying to wake up early to pia abit of FF12 before meeting staniel and weili at 3pm.. Going to check out Vivocity for the first time~ lol~

Day out with Sis

Forgot to blog yesterday~

Well, i went to catch the movie "Casino Royale" with my lil' sis yesterday at 11am @ Cineleisure~ Surprisingly the movie was not toO bad. I guess alot of ppl anticipated the movie to suck coz of the new actor (who doesn't seem to have the bond 'seh') but it actually wasn't half bad. Being a weekday, there was hardly anyone then lol~ I myself prefer packed cinemas though. lol~

We then headed to Heeren's HMV. My sis wanted to check out her Volkerball DVD by Rammstein.. and i wanted to get my Superman Returns DVD. Unfortunately for her, volkerball wasn't out yet. But what the heck.. i got mine. hahahaha.. =X

We then strolled down centrepoint to find a watsons and suddenly.. from afar.. i spotted a petite yet outSTANDING gal wearing black who seemed to 'pop' out of the crowd in front of me. I wasn't exactly sure who it was at first.. had my hunches though.. just know she was v.tall. And sure enough.. it was Faith. haha. I'm sorry we couldn't talk much coz to be frank, i was kinda stunned to see u. lol~ =P

After that lil' bump-in, my sis and i headed to Guardian in Centrepoint to check out some hair-dye thingy (which she wasn't sure of herself.. o.O) lol~

Then we decided to pay my dad a surprise visit at his office down @ Raffles City. So we toOk a stroll all the way from Centrepoint down to Raffles City. Naturally, my dad was pleasantly surprised and we all sat down and had some tea (coke for my sis) at the lounge.

Half hour later~ We were on the bus home, in which i toOk a small snoOze in~

It was a day well spent with my sister~ Not to mention, getting the chance to meet my dad in his office and the bump-in with Faith~

Fresh New Look~!

Ta-daaaaAAAaa~!

Finally, i can create a new blog of my own after soO long~ Been wanting to create a better blog since long ago.

And yes.. i know it loOks kinda 'girly' coz of the style~ But obviously (to most of my friends), i chose this template becoz of my Mika. hahaha...

Literally toOk me HOURS to edit this template to suit my preferences man... geeZ.. but it was worth it in the end.. i guess. lol~

I'd appreciate any feedbacks on this 'new look'. Please tell me if u find it a hassle to read the posts (coz of the small and 'squished' style) or that the colour schemes are toO light.. etc.. Anything would be helpful. (esp those gD in Java scripting~ lol) Thanks~ =)

Oh yes~ Please feel free to taG toO~!! Its nice to hear from everyone~ =)

In the meantime, i'll try and see if i can (using my programming skillz learnt last sem.. lol) further improve the outlook~

*psst:~ I've also posted my two recent posts from my old friendster blog over here as well~

Back Once More

Its been about 1 half weeks since my exams ended~ Didn't have time to do some typing then~ And have been busy settling my housing for next year and storing my stuff into my mei's house~ Thanks ying mei~ You really eased my problems alot~ =)

Finally back in Sg, in my house, sitting next to my sister who's using the home PC.. apparently watching re-runs of "Band of Brothers".

On a happy note, i'm actually very satisfied with my exams this time round.. really looking forward to receiving the results. Also managed to finally settle my housing for next year.. was rushing down and back to my agency's office during the past few days before my departure. Finally signed the tenancy contract on the morning of my departure day on friday.

Many things have happened during the past weeks.. some pleasant ones.. others not so pleasant.

Though there is one incident which i just have to talk about. And it happened in the Perth International Airport on the day of my departure. I was flying back to Singapore with my gD friend Hafiz, taking the 3.30pm flight.. ie: was at airport @ 1.30pm. Firstly, I exceeded the baggage capacity of 30kg, by 5kg.. but luckily Hafiz had an extra 5kg to spare for his luggage.. so lucky me. That was settled.

All seemed to be going well.. until we passed the scanning of the hand luggage-cum-going through metal detector place, when suddenly Hafiz was asked to take one of those random checks, whereby they just picked a random person and checked them for any possible explosive substances. They scanned Hafiz's clothes and stuff.. and the machine responded "positive"!.. Twice! He was then taken to a room where airport officials further tested him. I seated myself comfortably into one of the chairs outside.. and waited. About 40 mins had passed and still he was in there! That's when i started to worry abit.. coz the intercom was asking for both of us to get to our plane~ "Would passengers, Muhammed Hafizuddin and Chua, of flight QF 71, please make your way to Gate 01." And it repeated a few times.. Finally, they got clearance for him from the higher-ups.. but he had to follow them to his cargo luggage for further inspection.. i was like.. o.O"

And here i was.. waiting.. not knowing exactly what i should do.. though i kept asking of his situation. Finally, an official told me to make my way to the plane first.. and he followed suit after that. *phew.. that was truly an interestingly scary experience for the both of us.

On a lighter note.. i realised that many of my friends around me have really matured and grown rather.. pretty. Hmm.. pretty.. perhaps beautiful & elegant would be better words to describe them. Of course, I shan't mention names.. but the changes are prominent. Comparing their present selves to their past, its really nice to know how quickly things change over the span of a few years.. as they entered university life.. and then moved on to life after that..

Puts a smile to my face.. and yet.. it sometimes also makes me jealous.. thinking of all those lucky SOBs who might get the opportunity to be with them. lol... =X
Such is the way of life.. such is the path we all take.. some get blessed.. others receive none. I feel i fall into the latter.. though its hard to say.. but for now, such is the path layed before mE.

Yet, on the other hand, ever since my post on "Seeking His guidance", 3 posts ago, I have been making the effort to clasp my hands and pray to my God every night just before i sleep. Yes, perhaps that isn't gD enough as a self-proclaimed christian, but at least now i communicate with my Saviour on a nightly basis once again. (which i have not done so for years..)

For that, I am truly grateful~

A Litre of Tears

"Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."
"Just finding the courage to say all these to all of you.. i've at least cried 1 litre of tears.."
"If you look up at the sky after falling down, the blue sky is still stretching limitlessly and smiles at me... I'm alive."

~ Aya Ikeuchi (1 Litre of Tears)

1 Litre of Tears - The true story about a young japanese girl who suffered from an incurable disease called Spinocerebellar Degeneration (SCD). She lived on for about 5 more years after being diagnosed with it. But the important and life-learning lesson is how she lived her life during those difficult times, how she chose to make a difference with whatever she was still capable of. How the people around her - her family, her bf, her school mates and of course, her dedicated doctor, helped her along the way and supported her tirelessly.. till the end.

This story/drama has probably touched me the most. Though i myself didn't cry watching it.. (but MANY of my friends have) it instilled in me a very strong feeling towards her and the deep meaning behind it. How someone who slowly, but surely loses control of her own body can still live positively and tries to make a difference in others' lives, really makes me think.. how we take life for granted. We complain about monetary and materialistic issues, yet unknowingly we forget sometimes that we have our health, family and friends, who mean more to us than the world itself. This story helped me to reflect upon many a things, and i would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

The actress playing Aya Ikeuchi - Erika Sawajiri, really portrayed the character very well and i commend her on that. Not to mention, the lady who plays the role of her mother was great as well. You can feel the emotions through their acting.

As always, if anyone wants a copy of it, feel free to loOk for mE.

P.S: Those planning to watch it (esp the gals), do prepare some tissues to go with it, you most probably will need them. Nonetheless, a v.nice and touching drama indeed.

Yet another one of my personal recommendations~
