Lois & Clark
I find that sometimes I see myself relating to Superman and his love for the people around him.. more notably in this case.. towards the loves of his life.
During his teenage years in Smallville, his crush and light-of-his-life was none other than Lana Lang. A beautiful and charming girl who stole the man of steel's young heart and who can affect him the most.. emotionally.
He would do anything and everything for her.. making sure she was always safe and diving in head first whenever a situation arises..
Alas.. they were not meant to be..
Despite loving each other so strongly.. till the point where it hurts.. they could never be together..
.. as the fates saw fit.
And though they were near and far.. knowing that they could never be.. they still cared for one another..
.. But more so for him.. towards her.
I find myself caring so much for her.. Sometimes.. even too much.
Thinking if her day has gone well.. is she coping well at school.. making the right decisions.. wondering if she will falter again?
It seems to me that we are not meant for each other..
The fates intertwining us together.. yet not letting us meet..
There's just this special thing about her that makes me want to care, more than usual.. and maybe even love more than is required (of a friend)..
To me.. she seems to be like my Lana Lang..
Pretty.. charming..
Someone I care alot for..
Someone I would stick my neck out for..
Yet is.. someone who slips by me..
.. and not meant for.
~ The late Christopher Reeve (always in our hearts) and Margot Kidder ~Lois Lane is Superman's good friend from the early days.. and during that time.. love never crossed their paths for even an instant..
And yet as time progressed.. and as the days unfolded.. they find themselves falling for one another..
And as fate would have it.. the two eventually became one.
Which makes me wonder.. if I will ever find my Lois Lane.
Or will I be forever forced to cling on to Lana Lang..
Just some things off my mind..
Superman is my greatest superhero ever..
His story touches me the most.. and brings warmth to my heart all the time.
And is somehow.. someone I feel I can relate to..
A saviour of our world, living amongst us.
But it is his love for the people that truly inspires me.
