A Litre of Tears

"Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."
"Just finding the courage to say all these to all of you.. i've at least cried 1 litre of tears.."
"If you look up at the sky after falling down, the blue sky is still stretching limitlessly and smiles at me... I'm alive."

~ Aya Ikeuchi (1 Litre of Tears)

1 Litre of Tears - The true story about a young japanese girl who suffered from an incurable disease called Spinocerebellar Degeneration (SCD). She lived on for about 5 more years after being diagnosed with it. But the important and life-learning lesson is how she lived her life during those difficult times, how she chose to make a difference with whatever she was still capable of. How the people around her - her family, her bf, her school mates and of course, her dedicated doctor, helped her along the way and supported her tirelessly.. till the end.

This story/drama has probably touched me the most. Though i myself didn't cry watching it.. (but MANY of my friends have) it instilled in me a very strong feeling towards her and the deep meaning behind it. How someone who slowly, but surely loses control of her own body can still live positively and tries to make a difference in others' lives, really makes me think.. how we take life for granted. We complain about monetary and materialistic issues, yet unknowingly we forget sometimes that we have our health, family and friends, who mean more to us than the world itself. This story helped me to reflect upon many a things, and i would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

The actress playing Aya Ikeuchi - Erika Sawajiri, really portrayed the character very well and i commend her on that. Not to mention, the lady who plays the role of her mother was great as well. You can feel the emotions through their acting.

As always, if anyone wants a copy of it, feel free to loOk for mE.

P.S: Those planning to watch it (esp the gals), do prepare some tissues to go with it, you most probably will need them. Nonetheless, a v.nice and touching drama indeed.

Yet another one of my personal recommendations~
